Australia 2010

Sandro Scarpa, vice presidente del Club, è appena rientrato in Italia dal viaggio turistico in Australia, durato più di un mese. Durante questo viaggio, ha incontrato numerosi cinquecentisti e Club australiani.

Il Fiat Club of New South Wales e l’Italian Made Social Motoring Club hanno organizzato due meeting nei dintorni di Sydney in onore del Fiat 500 Club Italia e del suo rappresentante. Al meeting del Fiat Club del New South Wales erano presenti una quarantina di Fiat storiche una decina delle quali erano “bambini” (ovveroFiat 500) in ottimo stato. Ad Alan Steele, organizzatore del meeting e a Dave Filipetto, presidente del Club, i vivi ringraziamenti del nostro Club. Al meeting dell’Italian Made Social Motoring Club c’erano Ferrari, Maserati, Lancia, Alfa Romeo, Fiat e un’altra decina di Fiat 500. John di Rocco, presidente del Club, aveva organizzato il meeting di fronte alla panetteria italiana “Voglia di Pane”. Anche a lui, al fratello Leo e a tutti i soci un caloroso ringraziamento per la magnifica giornata.

A Brisbane Sandro Scarpa ha incontrato Lang e Bev Kidby, che tre anni fa hanno fatto il giro del mondo in 500. Ve li ricordate a Garlenda al meeting del cinquantesimo? Quest’anno stanno progettando di percorrere 18.000 chilometri in Australia a bordo di una Willys Overland del 1915, che Lang ha appena finito di restaurare.

A Melbourne altro incontro con Damon Earwaker: anche lui era presente al meeting del cinquantesimo: aveva spedito la 500 ad Amburgo ed era poi venuto a Garlenda. Sandro Scarpa, vice president of the Fiat 500 Club Italia, is just back from his 5 week tourist journey in Australia. During this journey he met several cinquecentisti and Australian Clubs.

Fiat Club New South Wales and Italian Made Social Motoring Club organized two meetings in the surroundings of Sydney in honour of the Fiat 500 Club Italia and its representative.

At the Fiat Club N.S.W. meeting 40 Fiat were present, 10 of which were Fiat 500, all in very good conditions. We thank very much Alan Steele, organizer of the meeting, and Dave Filipetto, president of the N.S.W. Club.
At the meeting of the Italian Made Social Motoring Club, Ferrari, Maserati, Lancia, Alfa Romeo, Fiat cars were present, together with other ten Fiat 500. John di Rocco, president of the Club, organized the meeting in front of the “Voglia di pane” italian bakery. Many thanks to him, his brother Leo and the other members, too, for the beautiful day!
In Brisbane Sandro Scarpa met Lang and Bev Kidby, who three years ago made the trip around the world with a Fiat 500. Do you remember them in Garlenda at the 50 year anniversary meeting? This year they are planning a 18.000 km tour around Australia with a 1915 Willys Overland! Lang is just ready with its restoration.
In Melbourne, another nice meeting with Damon Earwaker; he also attended the 2007 meeting : he had shipped the car to Hamburg and then he came to Garlenda.
